Membership Report

Amber Jones,  AAIDD Membership Chair

As we prepare for the 49th Annual Convention, “The Right Direction,” in Corpus Christi from September 30–October 3, 2025, we continue to collaborate and seek to broaden new membership opportunities with provider agencies, local authorities, advocacy nonprofits, universities, parent and family organizations, and individuals with lived experience.

If you’re attending the convention—or simply want to stay connected and informed—we encourage you to explore AAIDD membership. Membership provides access to professional journals, free and archived webinars, discounts on conventions and publications, leadership opportunities, and a supportive community committed to excellence in IDD services. It’s a great way to extend the benefits of the convention throughout the year and stay connected with a statewide and national network.

This year’s convention will highlight critical areas impacting the IDD community. Sessions will feature disability-related speakers and self-advocates sharing their experiences in independent living, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Attendees will also hear about supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in crisis, navigating Medicaid benefits, inclusive postsecondary education and transition planning, legislative updates on IDD initiatives and outcomes, and the expanding role of occupational therapy in employment services, among many other timely topics.

As the landscape of IDD services continues to evolve, staying informed has never been more important. Now is the ideal time to join AAIDD—enhance your convention experience and take full advantage of the many valuable resources that come with membership!!
